DirecTV Stream Sound Issues

I've seen a lot of complaints about static, etc. with DirecTV Stream and Roku.  I've got the same problem with my Roku 3980X.  Have to change channels to fix it for a while.   All the troubleshooting suggestions by Directv have been used and still same problem.  I would think that with all the people complaining about this same issue that DirecTV would fix this problem (don't blame it on Roku).  I'm going to give this about 1 more month before going with another provider if not corrected!

@tstar49 you are so right. I like the service because it has my local sports network but customer service lacking in regards to their app.

Changed HDMI cable.  Same issue with DirecTv stream as previously encountered, but not with dozens of other streaming apps.  Sounds like a problem on your end considering all the users describing the exact same problem (scratchy audio etc).

Try these options as a first step to fix many picture, sound or signal issues.
Restart your device - press the red button on the side or unplug it for 30 seconds, then turn it back in.
Make sure you're connected to your home Wi-Fi network. If you have a solid green light on the front of your device, you're connected. If it's red and blinking, it's not.
Check your internet or Wi-Fi® connection and test your signal strength using your remote: Press the Home button, then Settings > Help > Troubleshooting > Run Network Diagnostics.
Try using an Ethernet cable to connect to your DIRECTV STREAM device instead of Wi-Fi.
Check for DIRECTV STREAM device software updates.
Restart your home network.

We are having the exact same sound issues. We have 8 Roku’s and TV’s and have the same issue on all of them intermittently.  No problem with any other app.  Clearly only DirectTV.

I’m going back to YouTube.tv. I’ve never had a problem there. I had switched to DirectTV stream because see it has my regional sports network. I really don’t watch it that much so bye bye DTvStream…

It seems like you think I was using a DirecTv streaming device (re: red and green lights) instead of the Roku that I was using.  No amount of tinkering with the Roku fixed the sound issues.  Since then I have replaced it with a used DirecTv device from EBay ($40).  No problems now, but I don't think I should have had to do that.

Same problem ever since I have signed up with DirecTV Stream.  Roku Ultra LT and I can be watching the same channel for 30 minutes or more and then all of the sudden static audio.  I have to change channels and then go back for it to stop.  It also happens on a Roku express 4K as well.  This is the only app on the Roku this happens with.  I have deleted the app and reinstalled it.  It is completely random.

Why can i not hear certain channels i can hear the comercials but not the regualr programing

The same thing is happening with my brand new Samsung TV. The DirecTV Streaming app loses sound for 1-2 seconds very often. It is frustrating. How can this be resolved? Otherwise, I am going to switch to YouTube TV.
