DirecTV streaming app has sound issues

I just bought a new Samsung TV and use an optical cable to hookup my Bose sound system. Every few minutes the sound stops working for a few seconds then comes back on. Frustrating. I am an I.T. guy and have tried all the "first steps" of changing cables, testing connections, etc. What is the issue?

If you look over past posts on here, you will see many posts about problems with the Samsung TV built in app, it is very buggy. I gave up on the one in our Samsung set. Now use Roku and Fire Stick, instead.

Are you using the native app for the Smart TV or an external device? Not surprised if you are using the native app. That app is junk and has always been inferior since its conception. 100's of posts on the Samsung Smart TV and the native app. Most have opted to go with external streaming devices.
