DIRECTV WITHOUT HAVING A SATELLITE.
I had DIrecTV for 44yrs. The last few years with Geni premiere package. Is it possible to change my service to just DTV streaming without having a satellite on my house? I recently move and have Fios and find the system awful. I miss my DTV but too old to clean snow off the dish anymore.
Bottom line…I want to transfer my account for DIrecTV premium package (without a satellite) and use with my FIOS WIFI, Smart TV’s and ROKU devices.
Thanks for any help.

Hi, we're more than glad to welcome you back to DIRECTV. You don't need a dish to get DIRECTV. We provide a Live TV Streaming service called DIRECTV STREAM.
DIRECTV STREAM allows you to watch your favorite channels, movies, and shows On Demand on a wide list of devices. We have multiple packages with a few variations from the Satellite Channel Lineup. You can get to know more information and subscribe here https://www.directv.com/stream/.
Feel free to reach out to us if you need any more help. Thank you for choosing DIRECTV.

There is DIRECTV STREAM which is a separate provider from DirecTV. It is streaming-only and requires you to use a streaming device, such as a Roku, Firestick, etc. or even their own box (has a more traditional remote with channel numbers).
You can sign up for DIRECTV STREAM on their website. It is not a transfer of service as has nothing to do with your old DirecTV account.
Just a couple clarifications for some other things you mentioned:
DirecTV hasn't existed for 44 years. They started 29 years ago (1994).
The package was Premier, but the Genie was your box (Advanced Whole Home HDDVR).

So sorry, my mistake. I signed up with DIrecTV August 2002 and have been customer ever since. I have the Geni system now. I will be moving soon it sounds like Directv streaming might be the way to go. I will look into what it the full package is.
Thank you so much for your help.

Quite alright, just wanted to make sure you had correct info. The new service DIRECTV STREAM has similar packages to DirecTV. I would review their channel lineup to see if it has what you want.

DirecTV does not provide internet service. If you can't use satellite, then you can use DirecTV Stream, but you'll need a reasonably fast internet service provider. I don't know what internet options you have.

DirecTV is by satellite so you need a receiving dish. Landlord cannot tell you no as would be against Federal regulations. You can look into OTARD for more details on your rights.
There is no 'yet'. They will never have fiber optic because they are a TV company only, not a internet provider. So they will not provide you internet ever (fiber or otherwise).
There is an alternative DIRECTV STREAM which is a streaming-only service. Again, they do not provide you internet so would be through whatever internet you have. The channels are not exactly the same as regular DirecTV so you will need to look over their packages to see if this works for you.

The “limited time offer” the rep mentioned is not for DirecTV Stream but for “DirecTV via Internet”. They are similar services, but Stream is no contract while “via Internet” requires a 2 year contract and has additional fees.

If I need internet service in order to get Direct TV Stream... Why wouldn't I just get my TV service from my internet service provider and get a bundled discount?
What advantage does Direct TV Stream provide?

Sure, you can do that. DirecTV Stream competes with other streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu TV, and others. It's up to you to decide which service best meets your needs.

This product is a farce. I have a KVH with commercial service on my yacht and I pay $122 a month for 2 TVs.
I recently installed Statlink so I thought I’d switch to DTV without satellite. I downloaded the app on my Roku tv as Instructed by streaming sales. It said the price for choice was 108.99. But when I tried to subscribe it would not accept my address. So I called sales and they said the price was $134 or more, that I needed a hardware box. Completely opposite of the advertising and not competitive. Why would I switch? I get why ATT wants to get everyone off of satellite. Dramatic cost reduction. But they have to make the new streamed service competitive. I switched to Xfinity Stream at my home. No set top box fees, no hardware. Just a great app. Saves a ton and I get all the channels with cloud DVR.

DirecTV without satellite is a different service than DirecTV Stream. You can check out DirecTV Stream here
DirecTV Stream service has no contract or fees, and you can use your own streaming device.
