fast forward stop
UVerse when you hit stop when fast forwarding it would stop with an allowance for your reaction time i.e. back up a second or two so you did not miss anything. DirectTV does not do that - are you developing a feature to do this? I wish I would have kept UVerse for that function only.

First, this is not Uverse and comparing the 2 for features is useless. On for future enhancements, no one here in a user forum would know. The service does not broadcast future changes in a public forum. If and when any improvements are made then they will notify subscribers via email.

I have Stream and it does not stop to compensate for reaction time when you hit play from fast forwarding.
I would think if everyone had this problem the Stream World would be up in arms... so my problem might be unique to me.
I mentioned UVerse as it worked fine.

Please stick to a single thread as multiple is spamming the forum which is against the forum guidelines, plus makes any responses go all over the place causing confusion.
If you need to mention someone you do so with the @ symbol and start typing their name to select from the list. Such as: @Gary.L.Burgess

@Juniper @bcbsncjlj @litzdog911dontknowanything
my apologies / learning the system - my latest post - posted twice when I post once - ????
The Big Question that the forum could answer is do others have the same problem that I have with fast forward going to far when I hit play --- such that I miss some programming Yes / No
Thanks in advance

I don't really have that issue. I've learned to time hitting PLAY so that it's just about where the show restarts after the commercials. If it goes too far, just press the BACK ARROW button to skip back a bit.

@litzdog911 UVerse would compensate perfectly when you were fast forward at any speed - I miss that. We need to get AT&T to have Stream the same as UVerse... once you had it, it is hard to accept / like Stream.

U can hit the back button and it goes back 15 seconds if you overshoot the fast forward.

@Ludwick577 UVerse did things perfectly - Stream does not - we need to get AT&T to bring Stream to UVerse functionality.

Well though AT&T retains the lion's share, the new co-owner may be responsible for any improvements they choose to make. Not something we customers can force.
And with U-Verse being a grandfathered service, only serving the remaining existing customers, I suspect it will not pass on anything to DIRECTV STREAM.

As I remember, AT&T said they are maintaining no operational control over DirecTV, so I think it's all on the DirecTV management team. And to be perfectly honest, there is a long list of improvements I think are more critical than stopping fast forward a second or 2 early (which is something I must admit I've never ever noticed on U-Verse anyway).

I can live with the need to have a very quick reaction to stop fast forward. The problem I have started having is that the display on the fast forward sometimes freezes and you can't tell where you are in the program. Stopping then becomes just a wild guess.

@Art_P Which device do you use? Dtv stream box ff and rewind work really well --no freezing

Firestick 4K. I already had it before signing up for Dtv so it didn't make sense to pay extra for the Dtv box, and it also makes it easier to switch between video sources on one device.

@Art_P What do you mean using a firestick makes it easier to switch between video sources? The box has google play store and apps--so it's an all in one android tv device. I also use it to access my apps---netflix, hulu, hbomax, etc. So it is also easy to switch between video sources. U just have to hit the apps button on the remote.
The Dtv Stream box is so much better for me vs firestick... b/c it has a remote with numbers on it. Also has a shortcut button to the guide and dvr list. My firestick ff/rewind has always been clunky--to me vs their box.
