I am looking to get away from Optimum. I can’t. We have three high de definition boxes I’m very interested, but don’t know where to start

How do I get started? i’m not good at setting up cable boxes and all this computer stuff. Can somebody direct me?

With DIRECTV STREAM you use your own streaming box (Roku, Firestick, etc.) for each TV, or can get their own branded one if you prefer a more traditional TV experience including the remote. Connects to home internet by wired or WiFi,  and to your TV by HDMI, like any other device.

Make sure to look over the packages for what channels are currently available.

Are you referring to your Optimum Cable TV service? If so, you are in the wrong forum as this forum is designated for DIRECTV services.

@detuch254

The OP says they are looking to get away from Optimum. Seems they are "very interested" but don't know how to start, which is sounding like they want to switch to DIRECTV STREAM.

@Juniper

Yeah the only reason I wanted to ask was because they stated in the title, “I can’t.”

Hmm, good point.

@Albie21158

What is it that causes you to say "I can't"? What is the full situation? Want to provide the best direction we can for you.

ATT internet doesn't cover all areas, (especially remote or mountain areas) and probably why they don't try to push DTV, plus the whole thing with selling off DTV. We are moving and told DTV wasn't available in our new area ,then later told if I had Optimum internet, DTV WAS available.
