Well I don’t believe LG TVs even support DIRECTV STREAM (they aren’t compatible). You may need to get a streaming device like a Fire Stick, Roku, or Apple TV in order to stream. You may also think about the DIRECTV STREAM Osprey Box which has faster speeds and a handy remote which delivers a traditional satellite/cable experience.

I would think any new TV like LG would allow you to load the Direct TV Stream App.  You don't load channels into the TV - your only option would be to load the app and sign in to your Stream account.

Correct. But, DIRECTV STREAM is not compatible with LG TVs, just Samsung TVs. So, you’d need a streaming device. They aren’t too expensive, only run for around $30.

Unfortunately, DIRECTV STREAM is not compatible with all smart TVs. They have mainly dealt with Samsung, but that has been a lackluster experience.

It is better to have a dedicated streaming box (Roku, Firestick, etc.) so it doesn't matter what TV you have. Though the DIRECTV STREAM branded box has the added advanatage of a more traditional TV remote (channel numbers) then streaming devices not made for any one provider.

Thanks for your help!  After a few attempts I was finally was able to watch the Direct TV channels on my new LG Smart TV, I turned off the smart tv and turned it back on with the Direct TV remote control and finally was able to watch the cable channels, the only thing that is not working is the volume on the Direct tv remote, I have to use the tv remote for the volume I might have to figure that out later but I’m ok with that, thanks again.
