Bally Sports and ESPN
I have the entertainment package and get bally sports and the SEC Network on TV. However, when I log into the bally sports and ESPN app with my TV credentials, it let's me log in, but says i am not entitled and/or do not have rights to view the streaming channel. Because it is happening on multiple sites, I am pretty sure something is wrong with the rights associate with my account.

Let's find out what's the root cause of this situation. Find here how to retrieve your DIRECTV username or reset your sign-in password. If this doesn't resolve the issue, please let us know and we'll be glad to step in

Right. You'll need to call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say 'sign-in help' to the robot. This will send you to the right agent to deal with the issue. As this is a public forum, we are customers just like you so we have no access to accounts.

Bally Sports is a Regional Sports Network (RSN). You should not get it with Entertainment unless either you have the Sports Pack add-on or they are doing a free preview week of something like the Xtra package. Otherwise, RSNs require Choice and above.
SEC Network is also Choice and above, with no option to add it to a lower package.
Sounds like you have channels comming through that are not normally in your package. That would certainly explain why the streaming option says you don't have the rights.

My mistake. Yesterday was a long day at work. I do have actually have the choice package and not entertainment as I previously stated.

Ahh, that changes things.
Depends on the game you are trying to watch. Professional games will blackout (say you don't have the rights) if you are not in-market. Even if in-market, if a local channel where you live gets the rights to the game (even if DirecTV doesn't provide you that exact local) then you are only allowed to watch it on that local.
Is it specific games you cannot access through the streaming option, or is it all content?

It is all content. I am successful at logging in with my DirecTV credentials but when I click the live channel streams for SEC network on ESPN and for any network stream on Bally Sports, the error about rights/entitlement comes up.
My whole goal is to hear options from people who've had similar issues. My current possible fixes involve 1)changing my password (skeptical of this as my ability to log in isn't an issue) and 2)call the robot at the help line and say "sign in help."
Have either of those worked for others with rights/entitlement issues?

Changing password has helped some. It can force an update to resync the login credentials between DirecTV and the other apps that verify by it.
Then of course are the normal steps of clearing cache, reinstalling app or browser accessed through, or trying through another device (Firestick, Roku, Smart TV, etc.). Sometimes that may simply find a workaround or at least narrow down where the problem is (in case only a specific access point is the problem).

Unfortunately changing the password didn't help. The funny thing is that, with ESPN, I can stream the ESPN channel live but not the SEC Network. So, for some reason my credentials are not allowing me access to all the channels that are part of my package, just some which are part of the lower package.

I would reach out to the SEC Network to be sure if that content is permitted for you. Just because you have the channel in your DirecTV package doesn't mean that all streaming from that channel is allowed. Sometimes they are restricted on their streaming options.
If it is consistent that streaming works fine with channels that are in Entertainment, but not with Choice as a minimum, then I would refresh your service authorizations. Normally you can do this yourself www.directv.com/refresh but depending on the state of the website (they are updating again with the new co-owner spinning it off from other AT&T services) you might need to call and have an agent do this from their end.
Outside of that, and consistent across devices, then it is an issue that their internal IT would have to work on. Such a help/trouble ticket should be submitted over the phone, perhaps adding to a known issue case. There have been login and access issues lately but doesn't appear to be one problem with one fix across the board. As long as the specific content is supposed to be allowed streaming then that is either DirecTV's credential validation system communicate to the channel's streaming app that is the problem or more specifically with that information from your account.

I just got it working. The password thing didn't help but refreshing all of my equipment twice eventually got it working.

Though primarily for the equipment, it refreshes your service authorizations. Looks like that is what was not syncing up. Glad it is fixed and an easy option to use again in the future if needed. Do hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon.
