DIRECTV Customer Service HOURS?

Why does DIRECT TV advertise customer service from 6 am to 12 am Monday through Sunday, then when you try to get in touch with anyone they tell you they are closed when you call at 10?????????

It is 6 - midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST) regardless of where you live (so not local time). That being said, since the pandemic with the short staffing there have been times it seems they have closed early. That should be happening less now as some people rejoin the regular workforce.

So what were you calling them about in the first place? Perhaps we could help if you shared some important details about the accutal reason you were calling.

And it is DirecTV. It is not DIRECT TV. Something to be careful of so you don't fall for a scam.

The hours STILL state on the website CENTRAL TIME!!!! Irregardless a call at 10:05pm would STILL be 11:05 Eastern!!! Well before 12:00am!!!

@fillenwarth what time zone are you in? And, at what time and day did you call DIRECTV? (Your time zone)

Perhaps you called a different number and/or specific department. The regular number to call is in my greeting below.

I called that number. CLOSED. It was 10 pm Central same as the time stated online. Even at that it would be 11 pm Eastern a FULL HOUR before 12am Eastern. The red button does nothing! Neither foes unplugging !  Did BOTH se several times!!

As mentioned, that is their normal hours. But they are affected by the pandemic like everyone else. If they are still having staffing issues affecting their consistent closing time, then I would suggest calling earlier in the day instead of trying to do so when they are getting out.

Several times for what? We are not mind readers so please describe (calmly) the exact situation (symptoms, error messages, model of boxes, etc.).

If you still need to call DirecTV, make sure you call their traditional number (the one I have listed below) so you are not being routed through what might be a 3rd party or such.

I was TOLD to press the reset 4 days ago!!!! What do you mean by "we are not mind readers"??  If Direct answered their phones according to stated times, it would help with issues. Bouncing around by being handed off from tech to billing solves nothing!!! Its just like little kids, "NOT MT FAULT "

What I mean is we do not know WHY you were told to press the reset button. You have not explained anything about what the issue is. All we can guess is you are having a technical issue of some sort. If you want help with that, then you need to provide details instead of complaining about their hours.

If you called the correct number (listed in my signature), and it did not go through during the stated times (8am to midnight EST) then I agree that is a problem. I suspect it is a staffing issue since the pandemic, if not the recent adding in of a co-owner that may be rearranging some things in-house causing further issues.

If you want help, then actually describe the problem with your equipment and the community will try to help. Otherwise, good luck.

I explained the issue to everyone who answered the phone and NOBODY had a clue had to fix it. Tech said it was a billing issue and billing said it was a tech issue!!!! The they asked for an error code!! There is none. Finally tech said to try the red button. That is the bail out answer for "We have  NO IDEA WHAT TO DO!! "  Then told to unplug and plug in. ALL EXCUSES FOR WE HAVE NO IDEA !!  Hours are CLEARLY stated Central Time. Even if it was Eastern Time, CS should STILL be there if they post  those hours!!!  Covid employment is ANOTHER

DirecTV has always been 8am to Midnight EST (not central). So, you are not looking at the right customer support info. Perhaps you are looking at AT&T or a 3rd party reseller?

Whatever the billing or technical issue is, you have not said anything about it other than red button reset and unplug. Nobody could troubleshoot your problem with that little of information.

Unless you actually provide details of the problem, at this point all we can see is you are here to throw a fit and not actually accomplish anything. As such we shall move on since you don't seem to want any help.

I told an untold number of people at Direct the issue and NOBODY addressed it on a one to one basis. YOU have also not addressed why Direct was closed during open hours. You are bypassing EVERYONE of the questions. Also this is SUPPOSED to be a NON EMPLOYEE forum.  Answer that one!!!!!!!

We have addressed the hours in the only way can by informing you the correct hours of 8am to Midnight Eastern Time as it always has been and shown on their website (which I even linked). As you are getting a listing of incorrect hours of Central Time, then you would be calling the wrong number.

This is a customer-to-customer forum. Nothing we do can force someone to pick up when you call. So, I don't know how you expect us to address that any further.

What we can do is provide guidance and information that may help solve the issue you have with your boxes. But you have absolutely refused to share such information. As such the perception is you don't want help with your technical issue at all, but simply want to just complain about their customer support hours with no resolution of anything.

I HAVE addressed the issue the issue DIRECTLY with CS and tech support. NEITHER has any idea of how to fix it. In looking at the MANY other comments on here, Direct does NOTHING to resolve any issue!!! They tell you to push the reset button is all!!!  Direct pushes ALL issues off to the customer. Same as this one. You tell me I don't know how to tell  time!!!   You are good at ONE THING!!! Insults!!

No insults have been given. Please step back and take a breath. I will try to make everything clear.

I never said you couldn't tell time. What I did say is DirecTV's correct hours are 8 am to Midnight Eastern Time. I linked their official support page that shows that correct time. As you have mentioned Central Time, that suggests you are not on the correct support page. I suspect an AT&T website or some 3rd party, or possibly even DIRECTV STREAM (which is a separate entity form DirecTV). I have also shared the correct number that DirecTV has been using for 20+ years in case it differs from the one you are getting with the incorrect hours.

Yes I did mention that I suspect that short stafing from the pandemic and/or the migration with the new co-owner might be affecting their closing hours. This is just a possibility, not saying the actual cause. With your incorrect time listing, I again think you have been calling the wrong number to begin with.

You have mentioned the red button reset multiple times. Though it is a legitmiate troubleshooting step, it doesn't say what the problem is. You have been asked multiple times what problem you are experiencing, but you never say what it is. Why is that? Why don't you state what the actual problem is for people to try and help. It is that refusal, along with complaining about red button reset, that indicates you don't want help and just want random people to know you are misrable.

Again, not a single insult was given. Simple and polite info was shared. Please do not make responses more than what they actually are.
