I AM A 67 YR. FEMALE.  THIS MONTH MY BILL INCREASED $70.00.  NO ADDITIONS--NO CHANGES.  BEEN USING AT&T FOR YEARS.  ANYBODY HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR OPINIONS ON WHY THAT MIGHT BE.

Compare the details of your new bill to your prior bills.  What changed?

I would compare the current bill to the last one. Look for any monthly discounts that completed, any PPVs or other one-time charges, and also double check there was no carry over balance if for any reason the last bill didn't show paid in full.

If that still doesn't clear it up, either post bill details (with personal info removed as is a public forum) or call official support to go over it with you.

My opinion is that it doesn't have anything to do with the facts that you are 67, female, or have been using AT&T for years. [For the record, AT&T no longer has any ownership stake in DIRECTV.]  As others have said, something has changed, the best clue to what is your last two bills.  Compare them.  See if any line items have increased in price, or been added or discounts removed.
