Fees question

I have 2 tvs. One TV has a Genie and the other has the small box. I have two TV access fees plus an advanced receiver fee.

3. TV Access Fee $7.00
4. TV Access Fee $7.00
5. Advanced Receiver Service $15.00

Is this correct? Shouldn't the TV access fee be built into the advanced receiver fee or one of the TV access fees should be free right?

You have the new billing method where you are charged for the first TV rather than it being waived. Essentially, it’s $7 for every receiver (TV) you have and the $15 for DVR fee and Whole Home DVR fee. There is an HD fee however that costs nothing. It seems normal to me.

Just so I can understand better, what are the receiver models?

You pay $7 for each authorized TV, regardless of what box it is.

The $15 is for DVR and Whole Home DVR service. This covers the account. As long as at least one box is a DVR, you have this charge. If both of your boxes were not DVRs, say H24 (instead of HR) then you wouldn't have this charge.

Based on the information you provided, your bill is correct.

The Primary TV fee is only waived on the grandfathered billing model.

Old: Primary TV fee $0, HD $10, DVR $10, Whole Home DVR $3 = $23

New: Primary TV fee $7, Advanced Receiver (DVR/Whole Home DVR) $15 = $22

As you can see, the billing model was rearranged to give the perception that HD is an included service and not a separate charge anymore. People complained as HD has been common for a long time so didn't think there should be a charge for it anymore. In both billing models you still pay $7 for each additional TV. So the end cost is essentially the same but the new billing model 'looks' better to the average customer (in my opinion).
