Getting rid ofRegional Sports Fee
I'm being charged $5.80 per month for Regional Sports Fee. This is a separate line item in my bill, so I'm sure that it's not part of my original package. I'm not a sports fan and I don't watch any sports on TV. I'm on a fixed income and I can't afford to spend money on something I don't use.
I need to know how to opt out of this fee.

You'll need to drop to a channel package without the sports channels. Call DirecTV at the number below and they can fix this for you.

It is part of the package. Since the beginning it was hidden in the package cost, but a few years ago they itemized the RSN fee. So instead of everybody paying the same flat cost, it is specific to the teams that cover your region. Made it transparent.
You pay the fee with Choice and above as they have your RSNs. You would need to lower to Family, Select, or Entertainment. Or go to Preferred Xtra if still available.
