have not received a refund
I cancelled my DirecTV service over a month back and have already returned all the equipment. I have a credit and was told that I will receive a refund in 2-3 weeks but have not gotten it yet. How shall I go about it?

Having a credit balance and getting a refund would be highly unusual. DirecTV stopped prorating the final bill a few years ago. So last payment made should have been for a full month of service with no adjustment.
If there was an unusual situation where the account was credited after final payment made, then historically a refund is generated once it has been past 30 days since the account closed (end of service month now that there is no more proration).
You would need to call DirecTV and check on the balance and see if there is a credit waiting to refund, if a refund card was already sent out, or there was no remaining credit balance to refund.

They may have told you 2-3 weeks but I believe 4-6 weeks is more likely. As noted, all you can do is call but I’d wait until it has been at least 2 months since the end of your last bill cycle.

If you received a credit a couple months prior to canceling the service, then that should have gone towards the bill to where it reduced how much you owe. Unless the credit was so extremely high it was more than those next 2 bills leaving a credit balance even upon canceling (which I find unlikely, but stranger things have happened).

Do you mean you had a credit balance showing on the final bill? (as in looking like you overpaid) If so then a refund card should automatically be sent out, usually once 30 days have passed since the cancellation too effect (end of that bill cycle).
However, as DirecTV no longer prorates the final bill, having a credit balance remaining is very odd. Either it would be a $0 balance or have a final amount due if you had an Early Cancellation Fee (ECF) or unbilled PPVs found on returned equipment. You may need to call DirecTV to verify there was actually a credit balance in the end.
