Loyalty Program

Hi, My previous months DTV bill was $95.83. I have autopay and it was paid. My next bill is now $146.xx for Choice package. I had a $46.00 loyalty incentive until Aug 2021. They discontinued it without any notice. I called and they can do nothing. I prefer DTV over Dish and have been a DTV customer for well over 20 years with no bad incidences.

Is there a number to call beyond the DTV Loyalty group to appeal this or am I wasting my time. The Loyalty rep was very kind with no recourse. Tks. Dennis W.

AT&T's CEO stated almost a year ago there will be no more discounts for existing customers.

They discontinued it without any notice.

Are you sure there was no notice? Have you looked at the last bill with the discount? Typically those discounts are for a specified number of months and each bill indicates how many months are left. The last loyalty discount I got was that way. I knew exactly when it was ending.

The discount you received was not permanent. The notice was on the bill, which should have been listed along the lines of $40 off for 12, 1 of 12 (2 of 12, 3 of 12, etc.).

Sorry but discounts are temporary perks. Never rely on them to make the bill comfortable for you. Always plan on full cost. If needed, reduce service until it works for you.

Because of too many at risk of operating at a loss, and some who actually were, discount offers were greatly pulled back by their CEO. Over $40 discounted is the kind of situation they are needing to avoid. In the end they are a business, so cannot afford to give the discounts like you desire.

My last bill was autopayed 3-15-2021. It included two incentives as I wrote not to expire until Nov 2021. They are gone and Loyalty dept said they could not change it . I have always preferred DTV and still remain confused that they can cancel this. I will try to call over the Loyalty group but not sure of success. I am not making any of this up folks. I was told I was getting a total incentive over 50% of my bill? Not sure that's even sound. Juniper, I did reduce my package as well. My desire as you state is not the issue here. A commit by ATT is the issue.

I suspect others with monthly incentives with ending dates of when they will expire could l be affected as well in future months. Know too I have been a good customer and not someone that is not.

Look at your prior bills and it should show the monthly discount counting down. If you only saw it on one bill, then that says an agent did a one-time credit just telling you what you wanted to hear to move onto their next call.

As for 50% off the bill, if this was a call to you then that was a known scam. However if this was mentioned by an agent by calling the proper customer support number, then sounds like a bad agent offering something that was not available. In the latter I would submit a complaint on the agent for giving false info.

Monthly incentives will end at their appropriate time. People just need to read their bill to remind themselves how many more months until those discounts complete. There is no permanent discount to the bill.
