Refund Approved, Not Received

We discontinued our Directv account; we disconnected our service account.

-Equipment returned.

Received official email notice/statement from Directv that $ credit is due to us. Waited 2 months.

No payment received.

Contact help is circular, no results, even with our documentation.

Need assistance from higher level account staff for payment/credit due to us to be sent to us.

This is a public forum, not official support. To check on refund you must call customer support. If they are unable to help, you could try a BBB complaint as that escalates to corporate.

However, it is very unusual to have a credit balance when you close a DirecTV account. They stopped prorating the final bill a few years ago, meaning final payment should be bill in full.

Please read this if you receive DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse® TV, AT&T Internet, AT&T Phone, and/or AT&T Fixed Wireless service(s). We want to remind you that you’re billed in advance for recurring service(s) and/or programming charges and applicable fees based on the terms of your current service agreement(s) with us. Starting January 14, 2019, subject to applicable laws, we’re updating your agreement(s) to include your recurring service(s)/programming charges and fees won’t be prorated if you cancel the above service(s) on any day other than the last day of your billing cycle. Your service(s) will continue until the end of your billing cycle but you won’t get a refund (prorated credits) for any remaining days left in your billing cycle. For products not listed above, refer to their terms of service for more information.

Questions about this change? Go to att.com/ProrationPolicy for more information and to see the revised section of your service agreement(s).

Thanks.

We did receive notice from Directv of payment due to us from Directv.

[A few states CA & NY (maybe IL?) to my recall require transactions/accounts meeting criteria to be refunded/prorated.]

Thanks again, for your help.

Nice that you got the refund. Sounds like they issued it directly back to your card, which is fortunate. Recently they normally do a refund by sending you a card, which I'm not a fan of. Going directlyh back to the card used to make the payments is the way I think it should be done.
