Zip code / location / local channels
I live a mile outside the zip code of a large city. My zip code give me the local channels of another large city 100 miles away. How can I receive the local channels of the large city I basically live. Can I put in the zip code of my adjacent city?

DirecTV is required to only provide you locals for your Designated Market Area (DMA). Those DMA lines are determined by the local networks and Federally regulated.
However, if you are on the border of two DMAs, then your county might make a difference (not just zip code).
To verify what locals you are permitted: www.directv.com/locals or the new option https://www.directv.com/satellite/channel-lineup/ (making sure to click on the tab that has "local".
For locals not in your DMA, you can use a regular over-the-air (OTA) antenna to pick up whatever is in range. Unlike service that is spot beamed to a designated area, an OTA antenna just matters if you can get signal or not as cannot be restricted otherwise.
