This is exactly what I'm going thru rn! I rescheduled myself pretty much after they didn't show up 4 times! When i say i rescheduled myself i mean i had to call them every time they didn't show up for the set times they were supposed to come and install service! Not one time did direct tv call me to notify me of any cancellations or changes! This is beyond being patient at this point! For me its just showing me that it must be a mistake to do ANY kind of business with companies like this, i mean com on if they can't get something this minor down not once but FOUR!! times what is or how is this gonna work out l?!! I want a reliable cable company not one that can't even get communication correct 💯⁉️⁉️🤷🏻♀️👎👎👎👎

Oh my bad i mean when I call them because if i don't get put on hold i get transferred to a person that i cant understand? 🤷🏻♀️

To your main issue, unfortunately DirecTV like other companies has been severely understaffed since the pandemic. This means a shortage of techs resulting in appointments needing to be rescheduled is more common.
However as it has been at least 4 times as you say, then I would suggest at this point to file a BBB complaint. This takes your situation to the corporate level.
Over the phone is still live agents. But yes there is more outsourcing in an attempt to make up for the short staffing. Now that a new co-owner has taken over management of DirecTV hopefully there will be more dedicated support. We shall see.
