Any way to fix Diagnostic code 41-520
System test (after code 771) says Diagnostic code 41-520. Is there anything I can do to fix that or must I wait the 5 days until a tech can come out?

Unfortunately I have no clue what that error code means. Possibly a signal strength issue or dish alignment problem. Check the signal strength of your satellite dish on the receiver.
Go to Menu, Settings, Satellite, View Signal Strength, and you should be brought to satellite 101 strength. Document on this Forum the range of signals on 101, it is perfectly normal to see a few satellites with zero strength. Once done, press the ‘OK’ button on the plus sign to be brought to other satellites (99ca) (99cb) (103ca) and (103cb). On these 4 satellites, follow the exact same procedure, documenting the range of signals on each satellite.
Once done, you should have documented 5 satellites in total, 101, 99ca, 99cb, 103ca, and 103cb.

In the event that the signals are super low, a technician would need to come over your home to aim the dish. Optimal signal should be high 80s and 90s. Anything below requires the dish to be aimed again.
There are also YouTube videos online showing the aiming of a Slimline DIRECTV SWM dish. As long as the dish isn’t too high on the roof and you are willing to climb a ladder to get to it, you can use the receiver’s built-in meter to peak the signal.

41 - Guide date feed test failure, SWM only. Possible distribution problem, incorrect ODU selection or signal blockage to one or more satellite locations. Signal issue that requires service call. Verify all satellite signal readings in signal meter screens. Verify cables/connectors from dish to box.

We did check the connections from dish to box, powered all off and on numerous times, hit reset button on box several times...overall from yesterday and today, the error code went from the original 775 to now 771, no matter what we do. Further diagnostic steps brought the detail of the 41-520 code. Earliest a technician can get here is Tuesday mid-day! Meaning I'll probably have to go to a bar to watch Rockies and Avs this weekend!!!

The error code you received after the diagnostic test means that your satellite or receiver is having a problem communicating with the dish. Therefore, the dish or SWiM needs servicing which requires a technical visit. By the way, thanks for your insight, @litzdog911 and @detuch254.
You can sign in to your DIRECTV account to manage your service call appointment.

Technician(s) who came out (3 total) determined that the dish itself was installed incorrectly, even though that was 2 or 3 years ago and it has worked FINE until May when these errors occurred. They took down the whole thing, put new supports, dish and everything in. (Of course, now the supports are so low , about 3' off the ground) that I banged my head when pulling weeds from the rock walkway below it!!).
