AT&T replaced my failing HR24 500 receiver, but can't get a signal with the new one

Just received my HR24 500 replacement and connected it. There are two Satellite In ports on the back labeled: 1(SWM2) * Satellite In * 2

I forgot to take note when I disconnected the original receiver, and so can't remember which Satellite In port I need to connect to. I believe it is the first one labeled 1(SWM2) since I only have one cable coming in from the satellite. Anyhow, I've tried both, and yet I still can't get the receiver to pull a signal or lock on. It says "Cannot Detect SWM". I powered cycle the unit each time I tried it in a different Satellite In port.

The power inserter (SWM ODU Only SWM) is still connected and plugged in with power as well as my 8-Way splitter (SWS8WB-WMC). My dish is a SlimLine with a SWM LNB (SL3SPIG-P). Noting has changed, I just swapped out receivers, so what am I missing or doing wrong.  The only issue with my old receiver was the hard-drive finally failed if that helps.

I can't remember if I need to change the Dish Type, Switch Type, and/or Tuners or do they set themselves by detecting the LNB and coax connection? I've tried Single and Dual for the Tuners, SWM and MultiSwitch for SwitchType, and SL3 and SL5 for Dish Type, as I know 18" and 18x20 Triple are not valid for my setup.

Suggest -you start over (remove) AC power from the HR-24 --Connect the RG6 to the TOP SW1 port --Then PLUG the Receiver back into the wall --If the receiver Does not power up then press the On button--It should self config --If that FAILS --Call 1-800-531-5000 and get help or a replacement Receiver sent to you.

Thank you, I will try this. You mentioned to connect the RG6 cable to the TOP SW1 port. My receiver's Satellite In ports are left to right, and the one on the left says 1(SWM2) NOT SW1 as you stated. I'm assuming this is the same port but I would like to confirm.

Thank you again!
