connecting a splitter

I recently got an upgraded main receiver, I went to hook up the splitter that I have always used to stream the same program to a different monitor and it won't let me do that, says the component doesn't support the programming, do I need to get a special directv splitter? I just want to split it to a second monitor.

You are having a copy protection issue. You will need to upgrade your splitter to hdmi splitter.

Your splitter needs to be a powered HDMI splitter that supportsHDCP. Try monoprice.

Must be a powered HDMI splitter that supports HDCP 2.2 to be compatible. The networks require HDCP compliance to prevent unauthorized recordings.
