I bought a cable that I can plug my box into my WiFi. I hope that will work. They will not come reinstall my dish until 10/18. I have been a customer for over 25 years. This is so upsetting

Umm, WiFi is wireless. You just said you are plugging a wire into wireless. I believe you mean your router.
They will not come reinstall my dish until 10/18.
So it seems you have DirecTV (satellite) and not DIRECTV STREAM. Plugging in a wire will not help. This is because once the authorizations from the disconnected receiving dish are lost, you will not have them again until that dish is put back up.

Appointments are first come first served. Having service for 5, 10, 25, or 30 years makes no difference. They help each in turn, there is no making one a priority over another. The issue is since the pandemic they have been very short staffed, both in customer care and techs. You can call and see if an earlier appointment opens up, but naturally those fill up quick.
I didn’t know that. We had streaming a couple of days ago but now does not work. I finally was able to speak to a higher up in the technical department & he stated there have been many calls about issues today. He went to check on. It & then we got disconnected. Spent 45 minutes on the phone.
DirecTV is satellite which has some streaming perks. DIRECTV STREAM is streaming-only. Those are two completely separate TV providers. Which of the two are you trying to use with streaming?
What is the actual device, box, etc. you are trying to stream on? Model number would help.
You mention getting the dish reinstalled on the roof. If you are trying to stream from a DirecTV (satellite) box, then you might not be able to. Once the box loses the service authorizations even streaming will not work. When disconnected from the receiving dish the authorizations might stay for a while, but once it tries to authorize from the satellite it will lock out until connected again.
I am in my WiFi on my tv, but when I try to stream it won’t do anything. Just gives a symbol that looks like the directv remote where the arrows & select button are. I can stream on my phone

Moving to DirecTV satellite forum as this is regarding their secondary streaming perks and not the other provider DIRECTV STREAM.

Yes sorry I will try to directly plug into my router. That’s what Directv told me to. I will try when I get home.
