DirecTV Genie 2 receiver is not seeing my Wireless Network

20 year customer. Just upgraded to a Genie 2 because older receiver was not able to connect to internet. (Fiber) All other devices work fine. Technician installed, worked for 10 minutes and now not able to connect. Solutions? Or is it time to say farewell to Directv? Very frustrating.

Have you tried a red button reset?

The technician tried that. It worked for 10 minutes and then stopped. Plus, it interfered with all our other devices. It seems like Directv is just not compatible. We have an ASUS 5700 router - brand new

Have you restored the network defaults and set it up again?  Your router assigns the address to the HS17 and since you tried an Ethernet cable and it caused more problems the router maybe causing the problem.

DirecTV is satellite TV with internet connected being a secondary perk. Hope you do get it working as intended, but if internet connection is a requirement for you then perhaps this is not the best option for you.

However the upgrade came with a 24 months service agreement. That is valued at $20 for each month remaining, so up to $480 for the ECF itself. So saying farewell at this time would not be cheap for you.
