DVR can't find local sports
Here we go again! This has been happening for years and has not gotten any better. I have tried numerous ways to record AZ DBacks games and since I've been in computers for 50 years, believe me, I have tried every way possible.
EVERY time there is a DBacks game, it tries the other teams channel first, probably because they are always a lower channel number, and then (sometimes) 'finds' the local Bally Sports channel 686. But in the last week, it hasn't found that channel at all and I get 5 hours of a black screen with "All or part of this program did not record. The channel wasn't in you package during broadcast. (721). You are right, it's not, but why is it refusing to find Bally Sports AZ on 686? The game is on right now and I manually hit record when I realized your DVR is doing the same thing.
I have been complaining about this for YEARS and it's never been addressed, let alone fixed. And don't reply or ask me to check something. I've already been through that route! Just fix it!

So why are you not setting up the games using the guide? I realize you can only do 2 weeks at a time, using search defaults to all channels and On Demand so the DVR has no clue which game is live.

Thanks for your suggestion but I already said I have tried every way possible. Do you realize how many games a team plays in a year? 162! That's a lot of manual programming, especially when you have to add 3 hours to make sure you get to the end. And what's the point of being able to program something if that programming doesn't work?
I have tried search and setting DBacks as my team. Neither works. And I didn't even mention that when there is a Spanish broadcast on the alternate sports channel, 686-1, it insists on recording the Spanish broadcast when my language is set to English!
What upsets me the most is NOTHING has changed in over 10 years, indicating they don't really care.

I do it all the time find the game press red record button add extension comes up select 3 hrs done in a minute or less.

Right, at least 8 clicks for everyone of 162 games. I have better things to do. :-)

And I was out of the house today during the DBacks game and get home to find a Spanish recording, AGAIN! Getting pretty fed up with this . . . .
It can't find 686 when it should and then when it's in Spanish it find manages to find 686-1. I guess it just doesn't like the English channel, 686.
FIX IT!

Well, I don't know where else to vent. If I call them, I get someone reading cue cards who knows 1% what I know and all they do is ask me to reboot. Done that 1000 times. And as far as I know, there's no way to submit an actual written trouble ticket. I can explain 1000 times better if I can type out the symptoms but every support link I can find either takes you to an FAQ page or wants you to call a phone number and answer a bunch of irrelevant questions. And still not get to anyone who knows what they are talking about.
I have been a programmer and it is obvious to me it's a programming problem but as far as I can tell, no one has ever looked at it. :-)

Over the phone they cannot fix it as they are not the programmers. They can notate the account, so whatever internal audit that looks for trends might help. Alternatively you could submit a BBB/FCC complaint as that goes to the corporate level. Just something to consider for an ongoing annoyance.

Right, I know they aren't which is why there should be a form somewhere, with several departments listed that we can pick from and leave a note about a certain behavior without actually opening a ticket. You know, a "Help us make it better" type form.
After all these years of the same behavior, I just want to know someone cares. :-)
