genie dvr remote is too sensitive

If i accidentally touch a button on the remote, eg when it's in a pocket, even in another room without being in a line of sight, it makes a change to the screen. it may turn off a recording, change a channel or turn the recorder off. How can it be made less sensitive?

it can't unless you change it to IR only then if it's not in direct point mode -it will lessen the accidental button push

Remotes don't have sensitivity settings. They weren't designed to be carried around in a pocket.

The remote is set for Radio Frequency (RF) so that it can receive the signal regardless of what may be between the remote and the box. It can be changed to Infrared (IR) where it requires direct line of sight to the sensor on the box. That would reduce the chance for the issue.

Though I would suggest not carrying around the remote in your pocket to begin with. Usually side table, TV stand, or some other place to set the remote when you go do something else would be more appropriate.
