Genie Gen 2 HR44-500 TV Resolution Setting

Just recently replaced my LG Plasma TV with a new LG OLED. HR44-500 TV Resolution setting was 1080i for the LG Plasma TV. I need to change the TV Resolution setting to 1080p for the new LG OLED; however, when I go to Settings -Display-TV Resolutions, it will not allow me to select 1080p. What do I need to do in order to select 1080p?

That is because the only programs that DTV sends in 1080p are a few PPV movies, all broadcast channels are in 1080i or 720.  When a 1080p program is sent then if selected the HR44 will automatically display the 1080p light and send it to the TV.

The TV converts everything to 1080p for display.

Just for some PPV. I agree it's confusing.

Thanks for the input and clarifying for me. I was confused as to why there would be an option to select "1080p (HDMI cable required)" under Settings-Display-TV Resolutions since DTV does not send 1080p for broadcast channels.
