Genie mini has no aud/vid out of HDMI

After a lightning strike that hit the pole servicing my garage that the genie mini is in .... This caused the power to be out for a couple hours. Waiting for the power company to arrive.... I turned on the TV in the house and had a never seen before error message from my genie dvr. I didnt write it down. I unplugged the dvr from the wall for a few minutes and plugged it back in and after it rebooted ... I had tv in the house like normal. Couple days later I went out to my garage and turned the sat/tv on and tv says No Signal. I have no aud/vid out of the hdmi port. I have the genie mini hooked to a stereo for aux sound and I get sound from the stereo. I have tried numerous mini / dvr resets and still no aud/vid other than the stereo aux. The mini is extremely warm to the touch. Any thoughts are appreciated.

What is the model of the Genie client? Have you verified that the genie client is turned ON and shows a green light for Network? Essentially, you don’t see a single picture or hear anything on the TV? You may try swapping HDMI terminals on the television (i.e. HDMI2, HDMI3) or using a different HDMI connection. If no difference, test the genie client with a different TV. If still no difference, it’s safe to say that the genie client’s HDMI port is messed up. You’ll need to call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and ask for a replacement.

HDMI ports are known to burn out with lighting strikes near by.
