Genie Mini WI-Fi Distance

Good day.. What is the longest distance I can put a Geni Mini (C41W or a C61W from the HR 54-700 Genie. I have a 200 x 200 ft lot and my guest (Pool house) is 95 ft away and I don't want to run coax if possible. Also what will I need.. I now have the Genie HR54 and the Genie Mini C41L Wired (So I can't test it without ordering a Wi-Fi Genie Mini) any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated

The free air range of the WVB is 80' and it is connected to the SWM splitter with coax and costs $99 maybe lower online and you will own it.

Wireless Video Bridge that is needed to connect a C41W/C61W to the HR54.

Hi @oreagle, you have landed to the right place.

WVB stands for Wireless Video Bridge which is used to make your wireless Genie Mini communicate with your main receiver.

If you have any other question about your equipment meet us in a Direct Message to take a closer look. Please check your DIRECTV message inbox (the chat icon next to the bell in the upper right corner of the Forums).

Thank you.

Yes the HS17 has it built in and it still has an 80' range.

@oreagle just be aware that any standalone HD or HDDVR receivers cannot be active on the account with an HS17. Also, since the HS17 itself isn’t a receiver that connects to your TV, you’ll need to get an additional Genie Mini client to put in the room where the HR54 currently is.

And with replacing the HR54, or any other regular HDDVRs, you lose all your recordings. They are encrypted to their exact box so do not transfer.
