genie records channels I don't get

DirecTV upgraded my old equipment last week and replaced my DVR with a genie unit. I setup series to record by searching for titles and selecting Record Series.  Unfortunately, the genie includes episodes that play on channels I don't receive. Is there any way to prevent that from happening?

Set up your Series Recordings using the Channel Guide. Highlight the desired series on the appropriate channel and press RECORD on the remote twice to set up a Series Recording. Then it will only record on that channel.

Hi there! DIRECTV's DVR is the best feature not to miss a moment of your favorite series. The TV series recording can record all episodes and new episodes by the day/date of the recording. Selecting a series displays the recorded programing newest to the oldest recording within the series. If the title is displayed on a channel that is not included within your package, since it is done automatically by title, the program icon remains in the DVR recordings until it expires, but the programming cannot be accessed. Since there's no workaround for that matter, we will take your case as feedback for improvement. Ana, DIRECTV Community Specialist
