H21-100 Rebooting Constantly

I have a Whole Home setup that has been working fine for years. It consists of (2) H21-100 receivers, (2) HR24-200 receivers and associated DECA, SWM and Multi-Switch hardware. Recently one of the H21 receivers started to reboot in a continuous cycle. I tried all of the suggested fixes, including swapping it with the other H21 receiver; nothing worked. The problem followed the receiver. It's currently unusable.

Any suggestions?

Please advise......

The only fix is to replace it but AFAIK DTV only has H25s left but they will probably push you to upgrade to the HS17 Genie2 client only system with a new 2 yr contract.

Thanks for your response ....

As described in my post, I have a Whole Home setup with (2) H21-100 and (2) HR24-200 receivers.

Is the H25 compatible with an H21 so that if I get one it will be "plug and play"? If so I'd like to take that path.

How do I get an H25?

Yes, the H25 is compatible, as long as your dish is the newer "Single Wire Multiswitch" (SWM) technology. But there's no guarantee that you'll get an H25 as a replacement.

You have to call DTV 1 800 531 5000 and request a replacement.

I called .... I gave them the symtoms and they scheduled a tech. An hour before the tech arrived two AT&T reps visited wanting to assess the situation. They agreed that the H21 receiver was "Bad". They said that the tech, who is employed by a third party contractor supporting Directv may not have a compatible receiver. They recommended that I upgrade to Genie if I can't get a receiver. I told them to configure a package, cost and schedule, for my consideration. They did and I have a copy to think about. The tech showed up, we checked things out again he also agreed the H21 flaky and luck have it, he had an H24 receiver in his truck. The H24 has an integrated DECA which made it essentially "plug and play". So the Whole Home system is I'm back up and running.

I'll do some homework regarding the upgrade offer and decide in the future.

Thanks for the help ..... Enjoy your Holidays!

Thanks for the update. Just realize that any "upgrade" will trigger a new 2-yr contract commitment. If you're happy with your current setup, I would recommend sticking with it.
