DTV receiver model number and the remote model number?

Did you press and hold mute and enter button until the TV said you are in RF mode then proceed with remote set up?

It says that it's in RF mode already on the bottom left side, and when I hold down the mute and enter button the top light just keeps blinking green and then a longer red and then it goes out of that mode. I tried all of the 20 unknown model codes and it still doesn't work.

To reset the RC73 remote:

-Press and hold mute and select until the light blinks.

-After releasing mute and select, type the numbers "9, 8, 1" in that order.

-You should see the light blink again on the remote after typing the above 3 numbers.

-Your remote should now be factory reset. 

Yes I tried that and the codes still don't work

Yes I just tried them now, I pressed the mute and select at the same time and then (after green blinks) tried each code and tried the volume button.

Do you have to manually factory reset the remote or manually put it in the rf mode before you try the mute select at same time then enter the code? I appreciate everyone's help.
