how do I move my Gemini receiver to my garage
I thought it would be easy, but I end up getting a 623 error code.
Both locations are 5e ethernet wired.

so, the gemini cannot hear the genie 2 server...
ethernet does not do it... the gemini needs to "hear" the unique 5 gig wireless signal from the tower, you i think there may be a way to do it through coax...
ethernet is just used for streaming data..

For clarification, I have a dish connected to a Genie2.
The Genie2 (HS17-500) is connect to the home network via a 16-port gig switch.
I have 3 Gemini receivers (C71KW-400), 2 of which are connected to the switch
and the other connects wirelessly.
I am wired and wireless in the garage.
My first thought was to just take a wired receiver and hook it up.
Should have been easy, since everything is working aready.
That is when I got the 623-error code. I did test ethernet from switch to the garage.
All seems good, but I'm probably missing something.
Thank You

I'm hoping to do a better job explaining..
Your Gemini connects to Ethernet/Wi-fi for STREAMING CONTENT ONLY (wifi here mean your home network))
To get infomation between your server (Genie2) and the client, you need to do it via the PRIVATE 5GHz wifi from the Genie2 to your Gemini.
If you have a Wi-Fi "scanner" app, you can see the DTV wifi SSID.
If this does not clarify it, I really cannot make it more clear.
