lcc powersupply voltage?

Hello, I have an HR54/500 receiver. I am not able to see my local channels. Directv sent me an Antenna kit. I installed it and never got it to work. Today I saw a picture of the device online so I double-checked my connections. It ends up I am missing a power supply that plugs into the USB/coax cable. The USB plugs into the receiver. The power supply adds voltage to that connection I guess. It is not by my power strip so I don't know what I am looking for? Does anyone know what shape, color, voltage, color of label, or any other specs I can look for so I can try to find it? Thank you for your help.

According to this video it is a USB power supply.

I assume that the other power supply is the HR54 power brick that may need to be connected as shown or it is possible you need to buy another one to connect to the LCC, they are available online.

Actually it looks like you have 2 power supplies in the setup, one powers the amplifier in the flat antenna.

Then the "local channel connector" takes the input from the antenna, and it contains a TV tuner, which is a device that shows up on the usb port. But this box also needs a power supply. (the USB port on the receiver can only source 1/2 amp)

the video says the power supply for the antenna has a micro usb connector (where it plugs into the amp)

but the power supply for the "local channel connector" (again a tv tuner with a USB interface) looks like a barrel connector, typical DC. I have not been able to get specs on this power supply.

I see the whole kit can be had for $15 on ebay.

DTV only uses a power brick to power their HR44/54 and the clients and the HS17 doubt they would change that for the LCC.

maybe, so far no one can verify. Did you miss the part in the video where the USB cable powers the antenna, and the other cable with the barrel connector powers the LCC?

So, it looks like this or a similar product was available before, is this true, or is this a new version, or is the support in the newer hardware new?

When they become available, I'm thinking of getting one, but using my normal antenna as input to the LCC, since I already have a large winegard in the attic.

Should be an inexpensive solution.

Yes there was an earlier product.

The Local Channel Connector (LCC) is for HR44 and HR54 (but not HS17). This is technically still in beta, not nationally launched. Suspected because in part it doesn't support the HS17 and during a previous local carriage negotiation DirecTV had given many out which depleted their stock at the time.

Years ago DirecTV had the AM21 for their regular HDDVRs. They are still found here and there and can be used for those that have those pre-Genie models.

As I recall, one of the earliest HDDVRs had the antenna tuner built-in. (HR20 or HR21?)
