Lg tv remote programming
Puppies ate the old remote which was working perfectly! Direct TV very kindly sent us a replacement but I can not get the volume working. We have tried all 63 codes with no luck. What is the trick?
the remote is RC73 and the model of the LG is UK6090PUA.

The RC7X series should auto find the code. The manual method was more for the older RC6X.
To be clear the RC7X series is for the 2nd generation Genie/Mini Genie (HR44/C41) and up. The RC6X is for 1st generation Genie/Client (HR34/C31) and pre-Genie models.
Double check the instructions, and any manual codes, for your exact remote.

My genie is model HR54-700. I have no idea what generation that is. Do certain remotes work with certain genies?

The HR54 is naturally a newer model over the HR44. The HR54 (as well as the revised HR54R1) are the 3rd generation Genie. Key was HR44 and up.
