Missing odd transponders on 99 satellites "intermittently"

This is happening on and off regardless of the weather. Sometimes I have them, but most of the time I don't. I am also getting the 771 code for some channels on satellite 103 even though there is are signals shown there. (channels 241, 242, etc.) Directv just installed a new HR54R1/500 a few months ago. I have checked and tightened all cable connections. There are the 2 lines that were needed for the old receiver setup, going to the TV area in the living room. Only one line that is being used now with the HR54. I tried the old setup second line to see if that would work and got an error saying it could not communicate with the dish so I switched it back. Not sure why that didn't work. I suspect the LNB from what I've read here. I also have a splitter on the roof - old setup and having another older stand alone DVR in another room. I did adjust the dish slightly and got better signal on these satelittes, but it didn't resolve the problem, sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't. My thought is to order the exact same model LNB and just go from there. Any other suggestions?

I will order an LNB just like the one that is on there now and let you know how I make out. Been really dry here the past couple of months, but I didn't notice any moisture in any of the connections.

I accidentally clicked the solution box. I’m a rookie. First time in here.

You have a SWM5 LNB, which is no longer needed. A SWM3 SL3 LNB will work just fine. If you want I can send you a link to one on Amazon.

This is the LNB model I plan to order....unless there is a better model for my use?

I would go for a 3 RBLNB so when the new 4K channels come online all you will need are the C61K minis and 4K TVs.  I just got one from Amazon for around $8

I would appreciate a link for both. Thank you! I just have the HR54 and the HR24. I haven't had the HR24 hooked up in a while, use it for traveling. Will this unit be powered by the HR54? There is just a cable going from the splitter to the receiver there. Also, will the alignment to the satellites be the same with the 3 LNB as the 5?

Yes, the HR54 should be able to power the HR24 fine. However, in the future, if you add more receivers, a 29V power inserter is recommended rather than the HR54’s power itself.

Aiming for SL3 LNBs are very similar to SL5 LNBs. The only difference is that you are aiming for less satellites. With that being said, the tilt doesn’t need to be EXACT as it would with an SL5.

I looked online for Reverse Band LNBs and couldn’t find any for as cheap as @shannon02

Do you mind sharing the link @shannon02

Do you think it would be a plug and play situation with a 3? My aim is good now, would rather not have to re-aim it if I didn't have to. If just needed to be tweaked a little, that would fine.

It could be a plug-and-play situation however your dish may need to be dithered. There are videos on YouTube showing how to do this.

Same one here on Amazon? Do I need an extra power supply or will the HR54 do the job. Only $17.98.  https://www.amazon.com/DIRECTV-SWM13-3D2RBLNB-UltraHD-SlimLine/dp/B01FN024AA/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=3D2RBLNB&qid=1662685084&s=electronics&sr=1-1

@searay26

The HR54 powers ANY SWM LNB, SL3 or SL5.

The power inserter either external or builtin only powers the SWM LNB on the dish arm any receivers have their own power supplies.

I am assuming we only use 3 satelittes these days where we used to need 5.....
