Model HS17-500 needs to be moved from its current location

We had an "Upgrade" to the wireless mini done back on December 1st, 2000. The tech placed the receiver on the floor near where the cable comes up from the basement and plugged it into the nearest outlet.

We have since discovered the receiver is in a very inconvenient spot there on the floor and is plugged in to the only outlet accessible for vacuuming that end of the room. There is another outlet behind the TV less than 6 feet away that could have been used.

I was going to unplug and move the receiver but, there is a sticker on the cord which clearly states "DO NOT DISCONNECT". What if we have a storm and the power goes out?

Can I temporarily unplug it long enough to move it? Do these receivers have some sort of battery back up? I would much rather do this on my own and not have to pay for a service call for something so simple if I am able.

Yes, that sticker is cautionary only, if the receiver is unplugged the DTV system goes down until it is plugged back in and reboots.  There is no battery back up but you can add one if you want.
