One of our DirecTV TiVo units will not record one particular show.

One of our DirecTV TiVo units will not record one particular show.

We own 4 DirecTV THR22 TiVo units, all 4 were purchased new at the same time from an authorized DirecTV dealer, but strangely 1 of the 4 simply refuses to record one particular show that my wife likes, “Survivor" (I like to call it Gilligans Island 2.)

She can record ANY other show on the same channel perfectly. Moreover, no matter how we attempt to record it it just won't do it. We have selected the show, or even done channel number and time. It won't record. I've noticed that when we program it to record, the red indicator light comes on showing that it's recording "something". Nevertheless, when we attempt to watch it, it's just not there. I've tried rebooting the receiver, several times. and no joy.

Can you swap one of the working ones for it?

Well, I could, but we are using all 4 units for a reason. All of our DirecTV receivers are located in an equipment closet and are distributed to our 10 televisions using a HDMI matrix. So any unit can be viewed in any room.  Clearly, on the problem scale this is a 1. We're just recording the show on another unit. It's just a bizarre problem that I was hoping someone might have a fix for.

One that I've never heard before.

You may try the TiVo community forum, I myself am not too familiar with the THR22 as I’ve never owned one. I have owned every other directv receiver though.

I did post my question as you suggested. Unfortunately, the most recent post there is six months old, so I don't have high expectations. My problem is not a serious one, and I'm prepared to ignore it.
