Portable or RV satellite dish that will be compatible with a HR54-200
I need a portable satellite dish to use with a travel trailer that is compatible with my HR54-200 receiver. I tried one from Amazon that said it was compatible but it did not work. Any suggestions?

You only have two options ....
1. Winegard Trav'ler HD Dish for DirecTV
2. A DirecTV Slimline dish mounted to a tripod

Thank you for the response! Do you have any idea why these dishes sold on Amazon as compatible don't work? It said it was a slimline dish compatible with directv. Do you know where I can purchase a Directv slimline on a tripod?

Dishes on Amazon, especially from individuals or 3rd party sellers, can have misinformation.
A slimline SWM dish on a tripod or sled mount, or the Winegard Trav'ler, are your options. The HR54 is the 3rd generation Genie. All Genie setups, plus the H25, are SWM-only.
As DirecTV is stilling finishing up with their MPEG-2/SD-only shutdown, it is expected many sellers out there are trying to unload stock until nobody can use them anymore (or perhaps only with another satellite provider since some old ones were not provider specific).
If you have any regular HDDVRs, I would see about bringing them instead of your HR54. The Genie was built more to stay in place because it works like a server. Just never "upgrade" to the Genie-2 (HS17) as that is very unfriendly for RV setups.

It is the LNB on the slimline dish that needs to be compatible with the HR54 in this case you need a SWM LNB. Solid Signal is one place, you can also use a sled mount.

It said it was a SWB LNB on the Amazon link. Compatible with the HR54-200. The signal meter was showing 99% signal but all I got was the no signal code?

If it's a SWM LNB mounted to a Slimline HD dish ....
Are you seeing signal on all three relevant satellites (99, 101 and 103º)?
It's possible you're not aimed properly.
A link to the dish you bought would be very helpful.

Fortunately, Winegard's portable satellite dish can provide the quality of entertainment that you are looking for. Complete unit ready to hook up to the TV & watch satellite TV. Antenna, receiver, remote, 25' cable to receiver, and 2 types of cables to tv.
