Program remote message won't stop
After I replaced my receiver, I started to get this message every time I turned on the system. "New equipment found", with the option to program it. I did, the receiver turns on when the system and TV turn on. However, the message comes on every time I start up the system. I have continually selected "Don't show message again", but it continues to show every time. I have reset the system, nothing changes.
(I have noticed that the equipment options are more than 5 years out of date. There is no way to download an up-to-date list?)

Thank you, but i tried all of that, still didn't work. Finally started over, found "https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/remote_codes2" through "Troubleshoot equipment" and after entering my TV and home theater models got the correct codes for the remote to use. Went back through the setup menu and finally got it all working, and no message.

What is the receiver model and remote model? It could be on an older firmware version after being given to you by DIRECTV. You should wait it out for a few more days to see if the error clears up. If not, go to Menu, Settings, Remote Setup, Program TV, and try there.
