Returning Genie Model # c41-500

I needed to know if I needed to send back these two genies with the model numbers C41-500. I know some are too old and some need to be returned.

Though the C41 was previously known to be non-returnable being an earlier model, it certainly wouldn't hurt to try and return those 2 Mini Genie Clients. Just be sure they are deactivated off the account first.

If neither of the return methods linked accept the boxes, then I would hold onto them for 2 months after being deactivated before recycling them to be safe. You cannot transfer them to someone else.

I was told by directv representative I didn't have to return them. I have the transcript where they told me I didn't. I wish I would stop getting conflicting answers. Please which is it? Why are not all directv employees and departments on the same page?

The C41 is too old to be returned. As Juniper says keep them safe for a few months in case DIRECTV still wants them dropped off for the sake of having them recycled properly.

The only transcripts would be the online chat option, which is notorious for bad info. Plus those transcripts are not saved to the account so there is no record.

Many retention agents don't check the returnable list on what currently needs to go back. They default to the boxes being 'leased' which means to be returned.

With the new co-owner, they may have started accepting boxes a little bit older (possibly for in-house recycling). Trying to return is the safe bet, but if not accepted like I said just hold onto for a couple months to be sure. And if taken to FedEx or The UPS Store make sure to get receipt that they took possession.
