What are the models of each box you have and which one is in the RV?

Is there something specific you are looking for that is "updated"?

With RV and receiver, yes you have posted in the correct forum for DirecTV.

As you have a traditional HDDVR (HR22), I assume your Genie is of the regular line. So you have a HR34, HR44, or HR54 (or revised HR54R1).

Is the Genie the only box at home or do you have other receivers or clients?

An upgrade to an HDDVR would be the Genie, but only one is allowed per account. This means there is no upgrade available for you HR22.

Now if the HR22 has issues or completely conks out to where it needs to be replaced, a warranty order would be the HR24 as that is the last regular HDDVR DirecTV made and earlier models were gone years ago. However, as AT&T pushed DirecTV into Genie-only setups their stock of HR24s greatly dwindled. Some have been told recently by support there are no more to issue out.

Do you have a problem with your HR22? If not, what are you looking to get out of an upgrade?

If your HR22 is working fine, don't try to replace it.

The reason for upgrade would be support for one, as mentioned this is in an Rv.
I have contacted direct tv in the past on this model and was told there is no support for it.
It or something is preventing all HD channels to come in. Per direct tv with it being in an Rv I have been denied help and no replacement.
in another post I mentioned this and there was a reply that their are replacements available, so that is why I have this post to see if their is something available.
As far as the questions here

I asking for upgrade because of the age and it may have issues with receiving all HD Chanel’s .
I have Gini clients at home resident.

Also the dish I have for RV is a pole mounted sim I think is the term used to describe it.
This setup I have for RV worked perfect last year with 0 issues excluding weather, so something has failed somewhere.

Thinking if an up was available then I would be for it

DTV never installs in RVs unless it is permanently parked that is left to RV dealers so RVs where never supported by DTV.  Refurbished HR24s are available for lease from online retailers like weaknees.com or solid signal.com at the regular upfront lease price of $199.00. Not getting all HD channels sounds more like a dish alignment problem or coax/LNB.

@jasonrvtv

Support doesn't change with a newer model. DirecTV does not install nor provides service calls on RV unless it is permanently parked (so used as your residence).

The box would not be preventing HD channels as it is an MPEG-4 HDDVR. Most likely this would be a connection or receiving dish/coax problem. Even if the box was faulty, that would be a warranty replacement, not an upgrade. The exception would be if HDDVRs are no longer available requiring you to get one from a authorized 3rd party retailer ($199 one-time lease cost and 24 month service agreement).

What happens when you try to watch HD channels?

What receiving dish and LNB do you have?

Any other problems?

If your issue can be resolved keeping your HR22, then I would suggest if you have a free upgrade waiting to see about replacing a Mini Genie Client with a HDDVR (if still available). That way you get 2 tuners, 500GB recording space, and a box that does not rely on another (the main Genie) to work. It still shares the recordings with the other boxes at home of course. No change in monthly cost, though it would come with the 24 month service agreement.

As you can see from DIRECTVhelp's response, they do not support RV installations or equipment. You're better off keeping your HR22.
