Sony Remote Control will not turn off DTV receiver.
I have a new Sony TV that uses the Sony RMF-TX520E remote control. All functions work well controlling the DTV functions except for one. When I turn off the TV the DTV receiver will not turn off. It will however power up/on both the TV and DTV receiver. If it matters the TV is the XR77A80CJ.

The manual I see only says how to control a TV with it nothing about a DTV receiver and most TV makers remotes don't include DTV receiver codes.

What DirecTV Receiver model number?
You should be able to use "HDMI CEC" feature on both the TV and DirecTV box to synchronize turning power on/off.
