Standard definition channels

Received a message that Sd channels will not work with current equipment. It is saying that I must upgrade to HD. Is this a free upgrade?

Yes, it should be free to upgrade to newer HiDef equipment and satellite dish. Call DirecTV to verify.

DirecTV has been in the process of shutting down their MPEG-2/SD-only channels and going to the MPEG-4/SD and HD capable broadcasts. Though would suspect one day SD anything will be gone, but no hard info on that end.

What are the models of each box you have? Best to get guidance before calling DirecTV to see what kind of MPEG swap or upgrade might be best for your exact setup.

Make sure the order is setup as a swap and not an upgrade, the swap is free with no commitment. Read the order confirmation immediately to make sure it's a swap offer.

Those who have MPEG-2/SD-only equipment are getting the urgent message. DirecTV is shutting down those feeds so they are warning you to get your equipment replaced before it is just a brick.

What are the models of each box you have?

Your post is very garbled. I'll try to make sense of it, but please post back carefully if I missed anything.

THE pine trees are on my property line . the trees are 100 ft .tall...

my property person is not dropping the trees .

Are you saying trees are interfering with your signal? If so, then either the trees get trimmed or you get your dish relocated.

SD RCA DRD486RH

That is an extremely ancient MPEG-2/SD-only box. That means both it and your receiving dish will need replacing.

I was the SD  is DTV dropping it ...

did you do the  DIRECT TV SD dumping it ?

DirecTV is shutting down the MPEG-2/SD-only feeds. This means your old equipment will soon not work as is no longer compatible. DirecTV stopped offering SD-only service in 2015. Technologically speaking, it is an HD world now.

THE URGENT CHANNEL 90 IS NOT ON MY SD RECEIVER

The model you posted is an SD receiver. It is so old it shouldn't be mixed with HD equipment, even on an older HD setup. If that is not the box getting the error, what are the models of your other boxes?

If there is no LOS with the HD dish then you are out of luck and you will need a new provider.

Pine trees in the way of the HD signal. You cannot continue with DirecTV. Must plan to switch providers.

You cannot receive Dish Network in you area. Since they and DirecTV are the only satellite TV providers that means no satellite TV for you anymore.

You say Comcast is a mess. Many will agree.

Have absolutely no idea what you are saying about Verizon or how a person could be in a software issue. I suspect English is not your first language. If that is the case, I would suggest asking someone you know to translate for you.

RCA is ancient receiver.

D12 is the last SD receiver.

You must update to a HD capable setup.

If you can't do anything about the trees then you will need to look into other TV providers.

Sorry but DirecTV can't continue to support your legacy setup.
