Recordings are not able to be transferred. They are encrypted to their exact DVR.
However, equipment has greatly changed in the last few years including what is allowed. For some the current upgrade options are a downgrade as they remove capability.

Consider taking pictures of the recorded series before swapping out the receiver, so you’ll have a record of them.
