Trouble programing new RC66RX remote to HR24-200 receiver
I have tried everything I can find online etc to program this remote to no avail. I don't fully understand the RF and IR setting but nowhere can I get these options to appear on screen. Have been working with control buttons on receiver. About ready to give up. Please help.

Ir is default mode for all d remotes
Will the remote work on any other receiver that you may have? it should control any receiver (ir) --without pre-programing for say a tv model.
Perhaps the remote is defective?

It is a new remote to replace an old one that is not functioning properly. It is virtually impossible to get someone at Directv/at&t that can help. They only read instructions that I already have, after you spent an hour or so on hold. I know it is something simple but I just am not tech savy.

Use the front panel touch buttons on the HR24 to make sure it is in IR mode then if you want reprogram it to RF.
