Trying codes to program remote
When you're trying to enter a tv code in manually, do you have to factory reset the remote or put the remote into the rf mode before you try the mute select at same time then enter the code? For each code you try do either of those need to be done first?

Are you trying to pair the remote with the TV or with the receiver itself? What is the remote model and what is the receiver model? If you are trying to pair with something else, please name the brand and if possible model.

I just wanted to try some different universal codes for my new Hisense 55"UH7 tv as the 20 codes that directv has in their system doesn't work (to control the power, volume and mute buttons. My directv receiver is genie model number C41W-100 and my directv remote model number RC73. Thanks

You do not have to reset the remote or have it in RF mode to manually enter codes. You do have to pause briefly after entering the first digit before entering the remaining digits
