Unable to fast forward DirecTV DVR

On our local channels recorded on DVR through DirecTV, we all of a sudden are unable to fast forward.  What can be done??

I am having the same problem.  All the other channels fast forward just fine.  It is only the local channels.  This started 2 days ago on March 24th.  Any ideas??

If you can’t fast forward a recording, it’s because it’s not a recording, it’s downloaded on demand content. Check the channel of the “recording”, it’s probably an on demand channel.

Thank you for the response.  None of the channels are on demand.  They are the same channels I have been recording for years.  Also, there is no message given like you would get saying that Fast Forward is not available.  When you do try to fast forward nothing happens and then when you hit play it goes back 30 seconds.  Also, if you watch any of the program and exit out it goes back to the very beginning when you re-start the program.

What channel Numbers are you have that problem with? and what part of the USA

These are my local channels 7 (KOAM), 12 (KODE), 14 (KFJX), 16 (KSNF) & 26 (PBS KOZJ) and they are in Joplin, MO (I am about 30 min south of Joplin).  This problem only occurs on my local channels-not any of the others.

What is your receiver Model # --What you can try is using your remote -Menu-Search --(type) CLEARMYBOX --using the remote press search --then search all --Your receiver will reset *note --after that it will take 24 to 48 Hours fro your full guide and VOD to rebuild.

I wonder if this is a regional issue. I’m in the Joplin area as well. Mine did the same thing Thursday and Friday, but seems fine today.

That is interesting.  I just checked mine and it does seem to be working fine now. How strange.  I still can't fast forward the shows I recorded Wed, Thurs and Friday tho.  Thanks to all who replied.

Same here. I had a repair set for Monday...I guess I’ll cancel.
