What is the 5-digit remote programming code on an RC64 (Universal Remote) for an HR44-700?

Trying to set up a previously unused RC64, but can't even get it to connect to my HR44-700.

I've tried the recommended codes in the manual: 01442, 00749, and 01749, but none work.

There are no codes. Directv remotes work with directv boxes with no need for a code.

Well...mine's not and it's not a battery issue.

Your HR44 maybe in RF mode and the RC64 doesn't have the right RF to work only the RC7X remotes will work in RF.

The 2nd generation Genie (HR44) and up are set to Radio Frequency (RF) by default because they use the RC7X (Genie or "peanut style") series remote. Only the original Genie (HR34) and older are intended for the former RC6X series.

If you want to use the RC64 then you have to use the front panel touch buttons to change it back to IR.

Funny that the AT&T employee sent me to the "troubleshooting guide" that I have already been through, and which I had already tried prior to coming to the AT&T site. Also not a help for my issue.

Appreciate the assist from the others.

Hello @BethinGA, We can help you with that.

Are you in IR mode when trying to program the remote? The RC64 will only program to the HR44-700 in IR mode.

OK. I think this is getting very confused.

A couple of basics. The remote you have (the RC64) can only control the HR44 in IR. That means the remote has to have line of sight to the HR44. If you want RF, you need an RC7x remote which is designed specifically for the genie. You would normally have received an RC7x remote with the HR44.

Assuming you want to use the RC64 to control the Hr44, you don't need to do anything. The HR44 accepts Rf (from an RC7x) and IR (from the RC64) simultaneously, you don't need to switch anything. There is no "IR Mode" on the HR44, it always accepts IR.

I just tried it. I have an HR44 which is controlled by an RC72 in RF. I just picked up a random RC64 (I have several) and it controlled the HR44 (in IR) with no problem. In fact I could use both remotes interchangably to control the HR44.
