What WPA levels are available for CCK and C61K?
I am upgrading my home wifi router. I believe my DTV CCK and C61K are the oldest devices on the network. I suspect they will determine my WPA setting choice on the router. Does anybody know if these devices support WPA, WPA2 and/or WPA3?

The HR54, similar to the CCK, supports WPA and WPA2.

The C61K does not connect to the Internet as it is simply a Genie client that gets all info from the main Genie DVR (this includes programming, Whole Home DVR, Internet connectivity, Guide data, etc). What is your main Genie DVR Receiver model as well as other receiver models? Rather than using a Cinema Connection Kit, you may be able to wire Ethernet directly to your Genie DVR or connect over wireless Wi-Fi if your Genie DVR is Model HR44 or above.
To answer your original question; The CCK naturally supports WPA and WPA2.

The Genie is connected to a HR24.

The C61K is a Genie Mini client. The Genie DVR must be an HR34, HR44, H44, HR54, or HS17. List this model. The HR24 is a standalone HDDVR receiver, and not a Genie. The HR24 is incapable of sending info to a Genie Mini in hopes of getting it to work. Please recheck the model numbers of ALL your equipment and list it here once more

Thanks for the confirmation. With your setup of just 2 Receivers, there is no need for a CCK. Simply connect an Ethernet cable to the back of your HR54. Or, you can connect wirelessly over wireless WiFi by going to the HR54, press Menu, go down to Settings, slide to the right until you see Internet Setup, and choose the Reconnect internet button to confirm. Here, you can specify a wireless connection and choose your SSID. From there, the HR54 connects to the Internet over wireless WiFi and shares this connection to the C61K over the coaxial cable.

Thanks detuch254. What WPA encoding does the HR54 use?

Since the 2nd generation Genie (HR44), the CCK is built-in.
No need for an external CCK, unless you have a receiver/HDDVR not connected to the same infrastructure as the Genie (such as a detached garage with a separate dish).
C61K is a Mini Genie Client that does not connect to your router itself. Like other boxes, the Genie passes on the connection.
The old external CCK supports 2.4GHz only, but the built-in of the Genies supports 5GHz as well. As mentioned, both WPA and WPA2 are supported.

The CCK is the hardwired method DTV uses and doesn't need WPA. It is the CCKW that is wireless.
