What's DirecTV newest dvr equipment
So I have the hr44-700 dvr and have a 2019 sony tv and just lost control using my sony remote to operate the dvr. I had to factory reset my tv for an unrelated issue and that's when I lost control of my dvr.Tried all the set ups through the settings didn't work. The dvr had a recent update and sony says the update most likely killed the remote control capability with that dvr model and maybe a newer dvr model might work.
So I was curious to know the newest model dvr and if anyone can control it with your tv remote. Trying to eliminate using the genie remote if I can by upgrading dvrs.

The newest DVR is the HS17. However, this receiver has limited capabilities because it prohibits the use of any standalone HD or HD-DVR receivers such as the HR24 or H25. This way, you are working off ONE HD DVR and tons of smaller clients, whether they be wired or wireless.
I am confused by your reference to the remote being ‘killed.’ Can you elaborate on that? Perhaps we can assist and prevent all this upgrading and mishap from occurring.

Were you using your Sony TV remote to control the HR44? Or the HR44's remote?

The Genie-2 (HS17) is the newest, but certainly not the greatest, equipment. It does not go on a TV. It is a headless server tower to feed Clients and nothing else. It forbids full receivers/HDDVRs.
The 2nd generation Genie (HR44) and 2nd gen Mini Genie Client (C41) and later models use the Genie (RC7X series) remote. Non-Genie boxes, and the 1st gen Genie (HR34) use the older universal DirecTV remote (RC6X series).

The OP apparently posted a little while ago, but the post is now gone so don't know what their update from 25 days ago was.
