Anyone having trouble with Alexa
DTV requires what they refer to as a jump start. I haven't found anyone that knows anything about it. However, if you'll start out using your remote instead of Alexa & then start using Alexa a lot of your problems will go away. This is a big difference between Firestick & Fire TV

Well DirecTV dropped support for the Alexa skill a while back. Over time any later updates may cause issues or render fully incompatible.
