DTV Stream extras on Roku
Is there any way to add the Movie Extra Pack if you've subscribed via Roku? If you've subscribed via directv.com, it requires their box and several additional fees and I don't need or want any of that. DTV Stream has a great program lineup, but if I can't add the Movie Extra Pack on Roku, then I'll need to shop somewhere else. I hate having to mix and match stream suppliers because every user interface is different. I'm starting to wish that I had stayed with cable with all of its warts!

Doesn't matter if you have their branded streaming box or not. Once activated, just go into your account and add the Movies Extra Pack.

I've tried all of that and it appears that it's not available if you've subscribed and are billed through Roku. I've attempted it both through my Roku account and through my DTV Stream account.

Something is wrong then as DIRECTV STREAM doesn't have different account types based on streaming devices. And regardless of where you setup, billing should be through DIRECTV STREAM. Does your monthly statement show you are being billed by DIRECTV STREAM or Roku?

Roku is the billing agent because I subscribed using my Roku, not on the net. If I go to 'manage' in the DTV account it shows up but it tells me that I have to manage via the Roku account. I go to the Roku account and the needed package isn't available so I've unsubsidized. As of this coming Thursday DTV gets cut completely.

Well that is annoying and certainly not how I've understood it worked. I will look further into that.
The fix would be to cancel the existing Roku subscription and then signing up on the website with a different email address (to make sure it is a new account). Just don't do so until the service cycle ends so you don't pay for overlapping time.

I agree with that, however, if you look carefully at the DTV Stream websites and carefully read their terms, you will receive their Gemini set top box whether you want it or not. The problem with that is that you now have to pay an additional charge to use that box and another additional charge for regional sports! Avoiding that is exactly the reason that I subscribed using the Roku in the first place.
As far as I can tell the advertised net pricing is a scam because there's no way to get that pricing if they force their set top box on you.

Of course you can, but you also get their Gemini set top box and that requires additional fees. Read the fine print.

Several months ago, before I was ready, there was a selection on the website to elect to not accept their box. That's no longer an option.

DIRECTV STREAM - Live Stream TV on Mobile & Streaming Devices
To acquire the service without the device, it would be through streamtv.directv.com

I don't see any thing here that indicates 'bring your own device' but I don't see any of the text that mentions shipping the Gemini box to you either. I'd have sworn that I saw that just this morning. Thanks for the help and your patience. I'll report back on Friday when I attempt a net sign up after my Roku subscription has expired.

Yes, I do have unlimited DVR. It's fairly decent, but I have occasional freezes and restarts. Even with its occasional burps it's better that that of other streaming services that I've been trying.

It seems like DTV is going through some restructuring pains as they move farther away from ATT proper. I think that's adding to some of the confusion. Just my impression.

@TVFLYER - The 2 different plans are the newer "DIRECTV via INTERNET" and the previously existing "DIRECTV STREAM" (using the capitalization currently on the website). STREAM is what they also call "bring your own devices". (You can do that for VIA INTERNET also, but they provide 1 Gemini "for free" to "well qualified subscribers" - I guess the "Advanced Receiver Fee" (more than) pays for that. And they allow VIA INTERNET subscribers to buy more.)
They seem to be de-emphasizing STREAM - to get to it from the directv.com home page, you need to scroll to the bottom, where the link farm is - you'll find it under "More options".
It's not clear to me why they came up with VIA INTERNET, but my guess is that it is to seem more like satellite (or cable) and therefore appeal to people switching from those and to have a higher lock-in factor than a straight live streaming service, which STREAM is. (It's not a real lock-in - there's no contract - but the 2 year price lock may emotionally provide a level of lock to the subscribers.) They are probably keeping STREAM because it may appeal more to "unpluggeds" (and in case VIA INTERNET doesn't fly). It seems from what you say that they only marketed VIA INTERNET through Roku, even though you would obviously use a Roku rather than (or in addition to) the Gemini device - that seems an odd choice for Roku.
A question: why did you subscribe through Roku rather than directly? Did they offer a discount or other inducement, or was it just convenient? Do you have any other services billed through Roku? I hadn't been aware that they were even offering subscriptions through 3rd parties - I wonder if this is something Roku forced in order to allow the DTV streaming app on the device (because Roku obviously gets a slice of the subscription in this case).

Signed up via Roku because it was convenient and I wanted to be sure to avoid getting their Gemini set top box. No other services billed through Roku and no financial incentives to sign up that way.
My Roku subscription expired at midnight and I re-subscribed for Directv Stream on the net this morning with the package and add-on that I wanted without a hitch.
I have a fast fiber connection (600 Mbps up&down) and have previously had occasional freezes and restarts during DVR playback with a Roku Ultra. I'm hoping that will go away with a future app or head end update. I have 3 Streaming Stick 4k Roku's as well, but haven't used them enough yet to see if they have the same freeze/restart issue. I haven't experienced this issue with any other service.
I appreciate the help and comments from everyone.
